Wide, short chunky Mantle. Redwood, Kiln Conditioned and Resawn flat. Redwood, lower density, lightweight and stable. Still at larger dimensions may require time to stabilise to new indoors environment.  In the case of a mantle, above a fire (heat source) it is best installed in a manner that allows it to move, some further shrinkage posable. The wood needs to move as it adjusts to its new home. It is also advisable to install it in such a manner as to be easily removed if it requires further dressing to square up or flatten. Further resawing available. We are happy to provide advice and work with the customer and installer to see a successful installation.
