Chunky Leyland Cypress Mantel piece. This mantel is Kiln Dried and Resawn flat and square. This piece of Leyland Cypress offers structural integrity while showcasing its golden brown tones. The natural knots seen in this piece offer a unique rustic character to the wood.

In the case of a mantel, above a fire (heat source) it is best installed in a manner that allows it to move, some further shrinkage is possible. The wood may need to move as it adjusts to its new home. It is also advisable to install it in such a manner as to be easily removed if it requires further dressing to square up or flatten. Such movement and adjustment can be further mitigated with specific drying and resawing prior to use. We are happy to provide advice and work with the customer and installer to see a successful installation.
